How do I download and set up KidMapp?

KidMapp is free on iOS and Android. Download from the App Store or Google Play. You can browse as a guest, or sign in with Apple, Google, or email.

Do I need to create an account?

Nope! You can explore as a guest. Signing in lets you save favorites, earn XP, and contribute reviews and photos.

Is KidMapp free?

Yes. KidMapp is free for families and has no ads. We’re supported by partnerships that help cities improve playgrounds.

Where is KidMapp available?

KidMapp currently focuses on regions where families actively contribute. You can still browse and add playgrounds anywhere—coverage expands as the community grows.

Account & Sign‑In

What sign‑in options are available?

On iOS: Continue with Apple, Google, or email. On Android: Google or email. You can switch devices and keep your favorites.

I prefer not to sign in—what’s possible?

You can browse and search without an account. Some features like favorites and posting require sign‑in.

Why am I seeing permission prompts?

We ask only when needed. For example, we request location when you choose to see nearby places, and camera/photos when you add a photo.

Finding Places

How do I discover great spots nearby?

Use the Discover tab or the map’s “Find me” button to see nearby playgrounds and indoor venues. You can also search by city or address.

Can I filter for specific needs?

Yes. Filter by things like shade, toilets, surfaces, and age fit (where available) to find the best match for your family.

What are Smart Summaries?

Short, friendly tips based on community reviews and data (e.g., “Shaded toddler area, toilets 50m”). They help you scan faster.

Does KidMapp suggest indoor places when the weather is bad?

In some areas, KidMapp may highlight nearby indoor options when the weather isn’t great. This will expand over time and you’re always in control of which places you visit.

Contributing

How can I help keep KidMapp fresh?

Add playgrounds, share photos, write reviews, and report issues. Every helpful contribution earns XP.

How do I report an issue at a playground?

Open the playground, tap “Report an issue,” take a quick photo, add a short note, and send. Where enabled, we notify the responsible organization.

What happens after I report an issue?

Your report is logged in KidMapp and, where the playground is connected, we notify the responsible municipality or organization. They decide on fixes. You might not get a personal reply, but reports help improve places over time.

Is it OK to upload photos with children in them?

Please focus on the playground itself (equipment, surfaces, surroundings). Our safety systems and moderators may blur faces or remove photos that focus on identifiable children or could feel unsafe.

How does moderation work?

New places and edits are reviewed for quality and safety before going live.

Your Profile

What is XP and leveling?

XP rewards helpful contributions like photos, reviews, and adding places. Levels show your progress as a community helper.

Where are my submitted playgrounds?

Go to Profile → My Playgrounds. “Approved” are live; “Waiting” are still under moderation.

Can I edit or delete my reviews and photos?

Yes. Go to your profile and open your contributions to manage your own reviews and photos. If something is urgent or you can’t remove it, email support@kidmapp.com and we’ll help.

Notifications

What notifications will I receive?

We send helpful updates like new places nearby or when your post is approved. You can control notifications in your phone settings and in‑app.

Tips & Troubleshooting

Location isn’t working

Enable “While Using the App” in your phone’s location settings, or search manually by city/address.

Camera/Photos permission

We only ask when you tap Camera or Photo Library. If denied, open your phone Settings to allow access.

Can’t sign in

Try Apple/Google again or use email sign‑in. Tap “Forgot password?” to reset.

How does KidMapp handle my data?

We never sell personal data. Location is used to show nearby places. You control what you share and can remove your content.

Where can I read the Privacy Policy?

How do I delete my account or data?

Request account or data removal by emailing support@kidmapp.com from the same address you use in KidMapp. We’ll confirm and remove your account and associated content where legally possible.

Does KidMapp show ads or sell my data?

No. KidMapp is free for families and does not show third‑party ads or sell your personal data. We may work with trusted partners to improve playgrounds and indoor offerings, but you stay in control of what you share.
